Pros of The LG G4
Phablet size screen in a phone size body
Phones with a 5.5-inch screen can be a little awkward to handle. The LG G4. is a smartphone with a phablet screen. Meaning the G4 is as easy to use as a 5-inch phone with one hand.
In certain ways, handling the LG G4 feels more manageable than a smaller device. The rear button layout has been around since the LG G2, has been fine-tuned but now works much better than before. It allows users to access all of the buttons they need simply by touching them with their forefinger. This means that left or right-handed people have the same user experience.
It takes a bit of getting used to if you haven’t used a phone like it before, but within a few days, you’ll be handling the LG G4 like a pro and loving those rear buttons.
Outstanding camera
The phone’s rear camera is 16 Mega Pixel and dual-LED flash. The front camera is 8 megapixels, enabling you to take better selfies. The camera has laser autofocus and optical image stabilization.
When switching to recording mode, the videos are recorded at 2160p@30 fps and 1080p@60 fps, allowing high-quality, clear videos to be recorded in Ultra High definition.
Great screen
LG G4’s 5.5-inch screen has a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a pixels density of 538 PPI. This is more than enough to display ultra-clear videos and pictures. The screen is also made of Gorilla Glass 3, offering solid crack resistance, and features an Optimus UX 4.0 User Interface.
MicroSD slot and removable battery
The phone has a massive 32 GB internal memory as well as secondary storage via a micro SD card that can be expanded to 2 TB.
The G4’s detachable back cover allows users to access the battery and swap it out for a backup battery, which is becoming increasingly rare in high-end devices.

Cons of The LG G4
It lacks the quality feel of metal
The phone comes encased in a matte plastic housing with a brushed-metal finish. The faux-metal phone lacks the strength of an actual metal phone, making the G4 seem flimsier and less sophisticated.
Average battery life
In order to support its heavy hardware and processing times, LG could have improved the G4’s battery. The talk time and standby time offered are pretty decent, though. It also does not support wireless charging.
Slower processing speed than other similarly priced phones
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 could have been replaced with something better, as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 doesn’t offer the performance that phone owners could have enjoyed compared to other models in the same price range.
The LG G4 does not have the latest Quad-Core processor that most phones at this price range have either. While it will do its job, it could definitely be better at it.
FAQ Section
Is LG G4 still a good phone?
The G4 might be three years old, but you’d never know it. It still performs wonderfully and is still a match for any smartphone out there. As it happens, it may well be LG’s best G series phone up until the recent G7 ThinQ was released.
How long does an LG G4 phone last?
The G4 packs a 3000mAh removable Lithium-Ion battery, a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen, a Hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop). Check the results below. It lasted 4 hours and 10 minutes in the 3G browsing test.
Why did LG G4 fail?
In January 2016, LG officially acknowledged that some G4 models suffered from a manufacturing issue “resulting from a loose contact between components” that caused them to experience symptoms such as failure to reboot.
How old is the LG G4?
The LG G4 is an Android smartphone developed by LG Electronics as part of the LG G series. Unveiled on 28 April 2015 and first released in South Korea on 29 April 2015, and widely released in June 2015 as the successor to 2014’s G3.
Why does the LG G4 overheat?
The main reason for the overheating is the continuous use of the device. As you use the phone for a long time, the work of the processor and RAM increases. Roughly translated, the device has to give an answer to your every action. So, when you start using the phone to perform multiple actions at a time, they will cause the phone to overheat.
Conclusion
In short, there’s nothing glaringly wrong with the LG G4. It is a decent phone with some great features, such as a stunning display, surprisingly comfortable for its size, and a noteworthy camera. However, other phones provide those same features as well as something unique along with them.
The average battery life, processing power that could have been better, and the plastic body don’t favor this phone. So, all in all, you could do worse, but you could also do better.
